Christmas in Las Vegas may not be the first place you think of for a yuletide family vacation, but there are tons of family-friendly things to see and do around the city during the Christmas season.

 

Here are our top 5 favorites:

#1 Glittering Lights Display and Santa Tram

Glittering Lights Display and Santa Tram is located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, open from Now – Jan. 6, at 5-9 PM Sun – Thurs. and 5-10 PM Fri. & Sat.

Take part in this bright tradition and drive through millions of dazzling lights along a 2.5-mile course at Nevada’s largest drive-thru holiday light show.

Or bundle up for an outdoor Christmas adventure through the lights on the open-air Santa Tram. Santa Tram on limited nights and tickets can only be purchased in advance and online.

Tickets for the Glittering Lights Display costs

Mon. – Thurs. $20 per vehicle

Fri. – Sat. $30 per vehicle

Tickets for Santa Tram costs

$20-$25 per person

#2 The Ice Rink at the Cosmopolitan

The Ice Rink at the Cosmopolitan is open from Now – Jan. 6 from 3 – Midnight Mon. – Thurs. and Noon to Midnight Fri. – Sun.

Each holiday season, the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan transforms into a winter wonderland high above The Las Vegas Strip.

At The Ice Rink, you can skate across 4,200 square feet of real ice, roast s’mores by the fire, and indulge in seasonal food and beverages.

Lose yourself in a magical, park like atmosphere surrounded by the glittering lights of Las Vegas while enjoying light snowfall throughout the evening.

The Ice Rink was named one of USA Today’s 10 best skating rinks in North America.

#3 Opportunity Village Magical Forest

Opportunity Village Magical Forest is open from Now – Dec. 31, but closed on Christmas Day. Open nightly at 5:30 to 9 pm

Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition!

The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland filled with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, great food, and endless holiday cheer. Featuring enchanting rides, mini-golf, a light show, photos with Santa, an annual tree-lighting ceremony, and more.

Opportunity Village has added over 1 million new lights to the Magical Forest this season and will feature a synchronized music show with dancing lights that can be seen from any vantage point in the park.

The illumination experience lighting spectacular will run every 30 minutes from the time the Forest opens until close.

#4 Holiday Express at the Springs Preserve

Holiday Express at the Springs Preserve is open from Dec. 7–9, 14–16, & 21–23 at 11 am – 7 pm

Admission: is $10 for members and $12 for non-member. Free for children ages 2 and under. But hurry, spots are selling fast!

Climb aboard the Springs Preserve’s Holiday Express and be whisked away on a magical train ride to Santa’s village. Your very merry adventure includes personal time with Santa, holiday crafts, storytelling, cookie decorating, a nutcracker display, “snow” (yes, snow!) and more.

It’s a family-fun winter wonderland with departures 14 times each day, every half-hour from 11 am to 6 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. The Springs Preserve Holiday Express experience is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

#5 Ethel M’s Holiday Cactus Garden

Ethel M’s Holiday Cactus Garden is open from now until Jan. 6. The Garden opens daily at 8 am and lights are on from dusk to 10 pm nightly.

Kick off the season by taking a stroll through the Holiday Cactus Garden, illuminating more than one million lights in a three-acre cactus garden. Select nights feature choir performances in the garden and professional photos with Santa!
