Construction began in 1989 by Del Webb and was completed ten years later.
Del Webb’s Sun City Summerlin is part of the Summerlin master-planned community on the western edge of Las Vegas. Summerlin is comprised of nearly 20 separate residential villages spread across 22,500 acres. It is woven together by more than 150 miles of trails and 100 neighborhood parks. Located within the Sun City Summerlin community are three restaurants – The Tavern at the Falls, The Vista Grille, and The Summit. The Tavern at the Falls is open seven days a week and offers breakfast and lunch in a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere with exquisite views of the golf course and lake.
The Vista Grille along Del Webb Blvd. is the place to stop in for a quick bite with friends. Breakfast and lunch are served daily until 3:00 p.m. and a snack bar and bar service follows lunch, until 9:00 p.m. Guests may enjoy a glass of wine or favorite cocktail while snacking on a wide array of flatbreads, salads, or sandwiches.

Most shopping locations in the Sun City Summerlin community are accessible via golf cart and include such shopping centers as Rampart Plaza and Smith’s Shopping Center. At the northeast corner of Lake Mead and Del Webb Boulevards residents will find an animal hospital and Fresh & Easy Market. Plaza South is located along Del Webb Blvd. and Sun City Blvd. and at the northwest corner of Lake Mead & Del Webb Blvd. there are a wide range of restaurants, Walgreen’s Drugs, banks and title companies, and Boston Dental.
Also located nearby is Trails Village Center, a retail shopping mall anchored by Albertson’s and CVS. SUN CITY SUMMERLIN GOLF
Golf enthusiasts are greeted with three outstanding courses at Sun City Summerlin in Las Vegas, NV. Each course was designed by the award-winning team of Hall-of-Famer Billy Casper and renowned golf course architect Greg Nash. The resident-owned courses offer yearly membership options and reduced fees for residents.
There are two championship 18-hole courses and one executive 18-hole course. Palm Valley was the first course built in Sun City Summerlin and is located next to the Mountain Shadows Clubhouse. At 6,580 yards and a rating/slope of 72/127, it is the community’s most challenging course.
The Eagle Crest Executive Course, conveniently located adjacent to the Pinnacle Clubhouse, is a manageable 4,067-yard, par-60 course that offers magnificent panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley.
Highland Falls is a par-72, 6,512-yard course situated at an elevation of over 3,000 feet. The course features a sporty layout and dramatic elevation changes.
Each golf club offers great dining options. The Five Star Tavern in the Palm Valley course is the place to grab a quick snack at the turn or some drinks and dinner after a round. The Summit at Eagle Crest offers unsurpassed views and is ideal for banquets and large gatherings.
